The only other Recumbent I have had a ride on was an Actionbent Trike while on the Lions CCIA ride in April.
The owners name was Graham and he lives in Toowoomba he also has a Hurracane Challenge and a home built LWB.
Brisbane seems very quiet on the bent front.
regards Steve.

Brisbane 'bents

I have a semi-homebuilt SWB Bentech. I bought the complete frameset from Dom and "refined" it to suit me. I have seen a couple of other 'bents down here up around Coomera. No others tho'.

it seems like OHPVQLD has died out, I did find an old flyer in one of the Huff magazines which had phone numbers, I rang and left messages but had no replys,
How is your bentec do you ride it much?
Driving home from work last night about 10.30pm I saw a Trike with a trailer on Tombul road Northgate.

My wife and I did it last year. We are doing it agin this one too. We go up to Brisbane on the train on Saturday and stay the night in a motel. We did it in just over 4hrs I think. I have the finishing photo somewhere. Very pleased with the 'bent. This was my first ride in mths and i felt pretty good the whole way. A few aches and pains afterwards but no sore a%&*e or wrists.vonhazza wrote:WA Sounds like a long way to go to have someone to ride with.

Steve.
I try to ride it at least twice or three times a week to work but other than that not a lot. I would ride more if I didn't live at the top of a 3km climb. The 'bent is hard work going up in the afternoon when your tired and just want to get home....

I also have a Bentec. I built it from scratch using muffler tube and mild steel. I ride it a lot. It's a great bike. Some pics in the Show off your Bent thread page 2 of it and another frame I built.griffo1962 wrote:Hi Stevevonhazza wrote:Hi Paul

Hi Duncan, I am very happy with my bike, I had my first ride new years eve after getting my kit for xmas and have had as much fun building and modifing it as riding it.duncan wrote:Hi Steve,
What do you think of the Cruzbike?
I just ordered a kit and looking for a cheap bike to put it on.
Eventually it will go on my Airnimal Chameleon but I need to find someone to modify the seat tower for that.
..Duncan
I am on the look out for a frame with a lower top tube at the moment.
Tips for Cruzbiking, good tyres, low top tube, and when you first start riding relax your grip on the handelbars as your feet have more say on what direction you are heading, if that sounds strange you will know what I mean when the time comes.
regards Steve.

I ride a Trice QNT from FF in Canberra (of course) and commute a bit in 'Woombieland, but carefully, ... the drivers here can see white lines on the road, but not anything else!!!
We plan to move to Canberra before the end of the year though, so I guess I am a temporary resident here.
