This is Extreme Recumbent riding.

The White Ice Cycle Expedition sees Maria Leijerstam, 35, cycle to the South Pole from the edge of the Antarctic continent.



It seems that with luck she should reach the pole tomorrow.
The link below shows her progress. Zoom in. You can see the early meanders as she climbs and dodges crevasses etc.

The tweets on the right give a bit of an idea and her Blog page has some photos.

There are two others attempting the ride. I believe one has quit and can't find anything about the other.

ICE's latest update says that Maria has made it.....amazing achievement !

Almost as good as completing the Strava Festive 500 ;-)
