best location for locking trike

Postby gudism » Tue Feb 25, 2014 8:52 pm

Hi all.

Sorry if this is a silly question.

I'll be heading back to university tomorrow, and I'm not real comfortable chaining the new trike up at the bike racks out the front near the carpark (the uni isnt in the most trustworthy area).
The security at the uni have suggested I could chain it up out back of the uni behind one of the buildings, however I am worried its vunerable being out of the way of people, ie easier to sit there quietly cutting a Ulock.

Yes, the bike racks are in a more visual area and could act as a deterrent for potential thieves, however people around here normally look the other way. Additionally, not sure how to chain the trike there as well as have the kid trailer attached......its getting pretty damn long!

I'm indecisive........leaning toward the more exposed, pedestrian high location.

Thoughts and opinions?

Personally I always go for the public area and if possible in view of a security camera. While most people may not pay attension someone might. I'd only use out back if it was a restricted area.
