BIKE CARRIER

Hi all,

Well things a going along quite nicely,Im getting use to the new position on the bent & the seat pad which I was complaining about is not much of an issue now!!! I believe it was just me adjusting to how things were set up. Anyhow I need some advice on a carrier for the back of our car I have the towbar but what carriers are available out there to carry bents????

Hi Steve good to see your seat is working out for you.
I have Rack that straps to the boot lid and has 2 arms that slide through the frame of the bike, used it half a dozen times now and has proved to be very secure, Bought from Anaconda on special about $80.

I was looking for a picture of the type of rack I have but this is the actual rack at cell.

Hi Steve PP just a footnote to a ride on Saturday, Speedpedal Tamborine are bringing a Greenspeed Anura Trike over for My Wife & I to test at 9am so I will not be available for a ride until after Lunch.
My mate Denis and his Wife are comming over for a test ride and if you are interested you are welcome as well.

I have been looking at them on Greeenspeeds website and I must say they look a lot more traffic friendly being higher and all, I also like the idea that two can be coupled together to form a tandem with disc brakes to boot on all wheels!!!!


So count me in I will give you a call tonight so we can arrange a time.

Hi Harry, there's no such thing as too much fun!

Bris to GC still a month away so don't panic just yet.

Should get some good pic's of our test tomorrow, there might be a Greenspeed folding Trike as well if it fits in the car

To answer your question I haven't received anything as of yet from BQ sent my registration in about 2 weeks ago, might be a good Idea to chase it up to get confirmation from them.

Yeah have logged a hundred k's this week, which sounds kind of slack but that was two rides, so not feeling too guilty. I'm really looking forward to the B2GC, and meeting you guys. The track can be adjusted upto 170cm, so I am told. The wheel base for the LR is approx 135cm and HR is 138cm. So based on that I have decided to get one for transporting the M5 CHR. Might need to secure the bike with some tie ropes.

Will report back when I get the bike and the carrier.

Whoa - you guys want to spend a lot. Let me go out and photograph what I do.

Back in a sec ....

Here we go: The rack is a $100 rack from my LBS. Nothing special - just straight bars that I tie the bike onto, using either occy straps or ratchet straps. (I didn't bother tying is on here, since you'll see how it's done easily enough.)

Now that I have the spoke fairing ("disc wheel") I remove the rear wheel for transporting the bike. Before I built that, it was fine as you see it here. Longer trips might have had me removing both wheels sometimes though.

You should have chipped in earlier . That's ingenious and never thought of mounting it that way. I will still be very afraid mounting the M5 that way though.

Yeah, sorry about that - I don't monitor every single thread.

For the M5, I'd be tempted to buy a roof-rack mounting system. The M5 mounted on a Batmobile would be awsome!

Now I'll reserve my opinion as to whether your avatar is a self portarit until after the B2GC, BUT, I can't help thinking that this could be what the mono brow baby off the Simpsons would look like as a teenager, you know the one I mean Maggies arch rival.
