Introducing ICE ICE B1 baby
Postby Baalzamon » Sun Apr 02, 2017 2:28 pm
This use to be Just4thehellaboutit's Ice B1 and now it's mine. It was sold in a silent auction and was packed in a bag. Front skewer was missing which was easily fixed as I had spares. As it was fully disassembled I did manage to flip both sections of the seat support so when I applied power the seat went back Fixed that up!
First things first, I want a soft landing, so I went to my park across the road. Getting going was hard initially. Then steering the darn thing. Kept on going to the opposite way I was looking. Got my shoulders and arms to relax and finally began to steer where I wanted it to and managed a few laps and circles in the park around a few trees. Then I set off on a 13km jaunt with quite a few straight sections and rolling hills. Got to a section where I had the choice of a quite road or a path, I went the path option which wasn't the greatest idea today. If I had of known they were doing pathworks....
At least it was a soft landing. I could see the fall happening and grabbed the brakes which stopped me instantly and I did unclip as well, which maybe I shouldn't have. Got a nice learning curve ahead of me.

Looks an interesting beast Stu.
Hope I get a chance to see it.
It's been a while since I rode my SWB bike but I recall it took a while to get comfortable with it but once through the learning curve it was a lot of fun.

Shimano ClickR pedals unwound for thoughtless quick release.

Well I've pushed the boom in by 1" and pulled the rear out 1", so hopefully tomorrow I'll have no knees just touching the handlebars.
In terms of clipping out or staying in when crashing. If I hadn't of gotten my foot down as I did, my leg was in an awkward position. Hence I'm thinking stay clipped in if there is a crash coming

I vote for staying clipped in. Not that I've ever had time to think about these things when it happens!
