Cook Islands

Postby Robski » Mon Nov 30, 2009 6:47 pm

So boys and girls i'm off to the cook islands for 2 weeks next year and was wondering if anybody had any experience about the biking there.
I want to hire mountain bikes and hit some trails but also use it to get around while i'm on raro... any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Rob

I went to the main island (Rarotonga) late Dec 1999- early Jan 2000. I rented a scooter whilst I was there. The 'main' road encircles the island and is bitumenised. There was few other 'roads'.

I was there a few years ago. To get around rented a scooter (which was fun in itself), but had to pass a driving test for that as there is a requirement of some sort. So I actually have a proper Cook Islands driving license.
No helmet requirements for scooters, so probably dont need for pushbikes either.
