Hey all,
Just got home today after touring from Seattle to San Fran, all up we rode 1,600km over 22 days putting in around 83 hours in the saddle.
If you want to see the all the pics here's the blog: http://abirdinamerica.tumblr.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Below are some of the nicer pics!
Pre trip
Packing up!
28kg with bike and bike bag
Campsite coffee
Loaded up ready to cross the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island
Entering Oregon and climbing the big hill on the bridge!
Camped in some amazing place!
US101
Cannon beach
Oregon coast is amazing!
Sunsets!
After 1,678KM, 64,000+ calories burnt over 83+ hours of riding we made it from Seattle to San Fran.
We had no break downs, injurys, flat tires or significant trouble with our bikes!
What an amazing feeling to arrive into San Fran and see this golden gate bridge! Incredible!
If you have any questions just ask! Happy to help anyone plan / give advice etc !

wow looks like you had an awesome trip. Congratulations for completing the trip so successfully!
I gather it took a fair bit of preparation before flying to the states?

Of course! Unlike others that we saw along the way, my uncle (who I rode with) and I both trained, had good quality bikes with good quality parts (not factory wheels, new tires etc) unlike a lot of other riders we saw.
One person we met had 4 flats in 1 day. Less than ideal!
