On previous tours we have either rented bikes or taken ours with us as luggage.
There seem to be several businesses offering to ship bikes overseas.
We want to have some time before and after the tour without bikes and in the past have found this inconvenient when taking our own bikes.
Has anyone had experience of using the shipping services?

It maybe 'inconvenient' to have the bike with you when you don't need it.
But it is destructive not the have the bike with you when you want/need it.
I would be wary of claims of delivery of the bikes to you on a certain date. If they say they 'guarantee' it then ask what monetary form the 'guarantee' takes and how fast can you access the funds .. say to hire a bike as a replacement.
