Riding Tokyo - Oita

Hi guys,

Hoping I can find someone who can help - cooked up a pretty ambitious plan to cycle between stadiums for the rugby world cup next year.
No real planning as of yet as ticket ballot not released yet - but flights have been booked!

Has anyone done any cycle touring in Japan?

Looking at circa 1000km between Tokyo and Oita - but without any real knowledge of the country its difficult to get an understanding of which roads would be the best choice. Cant rely on google routing!

Unsure yet if we'll fly our bikes out there or look to rent something appropriate.

Any tips/ideas/resources greatly appreciated!
