Geday to all new here i have a schwinn (alloy seven )cruiser& love it .This model has a 7" frame tube with a 8" long steering tube(fork steerer) that is 1&1/8 dia threaded ,where most schwinns have a 6". My problem is ...that i would like to install a set of springer folks to it but the only brand with enought lenght 9'' threaded that wound needto be cut down to my needed lenght 8" long but they only come in 1 inch dia .Hopeing theres a simply solution to my little glich.I was thinking of using slightly larger ballbearings? im not up to speed with bike bits .
Hellow again and have a good day we all only get one more at a time

Hello to you and welcome to the forums i could say i have been there when i was building a custom trike with springer forks same sort of issue. So what i did was cut the fork steerer tube of from the base (thats the springer forks) and welded the original steerer tube back on thats the fork tube of the trike.
For me by doing this i only had to make the one cut because it was the same length allowing me to use the same thread which i didnt have to cut down.
The problem was for me the 1 inch diamature which you seem to have, i would not recommend larger ball bearing it might cuase other issues when stearing.
I hope this might give you some other ideas this did work for me but it might not work for you so just be careful before you cut.

Most bike shops will have, or be able to get a 1 1/8" to 1" headset. I have purchased a couple in the past.
