Bareknuckle Brawler

Postby larren » Sun Jul 31, 2011 7:51 pm

Here's some pics of one I just finished for the annual online build-off on Rat Rod Bikes.com

Started out as a Big W Repco Cruiser. Heaps done to it including custom springer front end, hand made copper tank, clear coated bare metal frame...........too much to list.

Here's the link to the build if you're keen to have a better look. Entries close tomorrow and voting starts in a week or so. hewey, another member on here has entered as well.

Brakes fail.

Very stylish, but how do you stop it?

Seat looks a bit low for a fixie :?: :?: :?:

Disc brakes would have been a nice finishing touch.

OK, I missed that. :D I was looking but with the limited view of the rear hub it looked like the diameter between the spoke flanges didn't seem big enough to accomodate one.

Nice work!

2nd Womble, pull your head in. You're even more trouble than the first one. :P Shouldn't you be digging holes in tennis courts somewhere in England about now?

your bike is very well balanced, construction and quality of parts, and attention to detail have made your bike something quite unique. Visually stunning with the curve linear treatment and the use and non use of space. Your colour theory has worked well, although the copper tank is the odd colour/material on this build, your decision to leave the patina on it and not brightly polish is well keeping with the overall surface treatment of the components that make up this unique bicycle. my sugestion to you is to donate it to the powerhouse museum for display. where it can be viewed and enjoyed by all. nice one.

Thanks for all the positive comments :D . The bike is currently sitting in 5th place in the voting, which is beyond any expectations I had for the build-off.

sjdonne, the tyres are 24 x 3 Electra Fattio's. As far as I know they are not available here in Oz.....I got mine through BikeWorld USA.

Whoops.......just saw the title of my bike and saw the typo.....missed out the k, should be Bareknuckle  .
Pssst, fixt!

I like it!

I especially like the saddle being right down at the tyre's level and the leather saddle.

The headlight is a nice touch too.
