Lance Armstrong returns to the wind tunnel

Postby Aushiker » Wed Nov 05, 2008 1:39 pm

G'day

Lance Armstrong has started his preparations early for the 2009 season, entering the San Diego Air & Space Technology Low Speed Wind Tunnel for aerodynamic testing a full two months before he did during his last few years racing for Discovery Channel. BikeRadar was there to capture photos and video, and spend time talking with Armstrong and his technical team on an overcast day near the San Diego Airport....

More of an idea of Lance's power output here.

Would be more interested to see Lances power output than his partners.Although he was obviously holding back a fair bit not to drop him.

Yes and no, I was reading a debate over those figures somewhere (cant remember where...) apparently Lance rode in the wind for about 75% of the time, and they were predicting 530W avg. based on his partners figures. But that was shot down a bit when citing his peak avg for a TT used to be around 500W, which was countered again with the fact it was only a 30min TT. So yeah, whatever happened, Lance is back in some good shape...
