Rock Racing to Ride Kestrel in 2009

Postby AUbicycles » Wed Feb 11, 2009 10:52 pm

Courtesy of Kestrel Bicycles:
Caught my eye as they had some pretty nifty racing bikes from Fuji - but have now moved.

The team will ride Kestrel's new RT900, a 950 gram carbon frameset that features a unique aero-shaped monocoque frame design and its proprietary EMS Pro fork. The team will also be supported by Shimano with Dura-Ace components.

Rock Racing will make its racing debut at the Tour of California, February 14, 2009. The TOC team roster includes: Victor Hugo Pena Grisales (Col), Enrique Gutierrez (Spa), Francisco Mancebo (Spa), Freddy Rodriguez (USA), Tyler Hamilton (USA), David Vitoria (Swi), Oscar Sevilla (Spa), Aaron Kemps (Aus).

11000 sterling, for last years team bike
The 900SL certainly looks the goods.

I really like it simply because it is so different, and I think we will see a lot more variation in graphics and new graphical styles for road bikes in the future.

The graphics on the fuji look awesome - hopefully they'll do something similar for the Kestrel?

I reckon RR have done a great job introducing a new flavour to cycling - the steath race car colour schemes, that seem to be the norm are cool but it's awesome to see some new designs as well. I saw a rider in a white RR kit the other week - looked very schmick. Hopefully we'll see some more bike mfg's bringing out some funky graphics in the not too distant future.
