After seeing some ding dong battles at the Giro, ToC, and TdF 2009 and some amazing riding skills, heres a couple of unusual battles I'd like to see at this years TdF ; Hushovd & Cavendish go on an attack (like Hushovd did on '09) to try and secure the Points jersey by battling for the intermediate sprints. A downhill ITT of sorts between Arroyo and Cancellara (Cancellara's catchup after a puncture in '09 and Arroyo's gains downhill in the Giro were AMAZING ) Boonen, Cancellara, Friere, Flecha et al go head to hed on the cobble stages and really gap the peleton Any others ????

Cadel's team actually have a strong race.
A new test that finds all doping.
More understated salutes to the judges. No pistolero or Cav on the phone.
Jens staying upright and doing well.

Firstly, Jens winning a stage. If that happens then I'm happy. Of course it would be great to see a similar scenario play out as did at the Giro this year where a lot of GC contenders lost significant time meaning they have no option but to attack to win time back. I also hope all the hype surrounding the cobbled stage is well founded. A bit of rainy weather on that day could bode well for a shake up in GC and leave the stage set for an epic battle to the finish.

A TT where you make them climb a mountain (ala the Giro) and make half of it on the dirt, when it's wet.

Jens drop Contador on a climb.
Or just ride over the top of him like a tank....
A bit of carnage on the cobbles (not injuries), but significant delays that make some of the favourites have to do some serious work to claw back time.

One of the Schleck boys winning the thing. But I might have to wait another couple of years.

If the Giro is any guide, ANYTHING is possible, but agree with the wish. A Saxo 1-2-3 with Stuey on the 3rd step of the podium...

I'd like to see a cyclists race, rather than strategies over the radio from the team car.

No excuses from Cadel. No whingeing, no whining, no sharp words to the journalists. I've seen plenty of riders whose grimace looks like a smile. Cadel's smile looks like a grimace...
