Everybody check your rosters for non-starters.

There have been a few changes to team lists in the recent days that mean some riders that have been picked in fantasy teams are no longer starting. A good sign is if your rider is now in a white shirt with no team. But others, like Nibali, are still linked with a team even if they aren't riding.

I would have preferred if you didn't provide the 'helpful' colour-coding.

Hello ...

Are newbies allowed to join the comp? If so that would be awesome.

Got a question though ... might have already been explained but here it is ...

I'm wondering abou tthe interpretation of this rule ...

"Only the original 9 cyclists that you select for your team when it is initially submitted will score Final Standing Points ... "

Here's an example ...

Say I pick Contodor from the start but trade him out after Stage 1 for whatever reason and never trade him back in again and he goes on to win the Tour, do I still get the 60 Final Standing Points for his win or do I need to trade him back in at the finish to collect the points?

Whichever way it goes has a big impact on strategy.

Team name is "The Brown Trousers"

The team you have at 23:59 AEST on Saturday 3rd July is the one that counts for final standing points.

If you trade Contador out at 00:01 AEST on Sunday 4th July and never get him back you will still get the points if he wins the tour.

Indeed, given the first six stages are flat, many people will be trading Contador out (among others) between 23:59 Saturday and 09:00 Sunday morning (the deadline to have your transfers count for the first stage).

Welcome aboard, the more the merrier I say.

Hi

From my announcement post:
To add to the fun of this I have created a mini-league called "Australian Cycling Forums". Anyone is welcome to join, no prizes but. To join the mini league go to http://sbs.com.au/tdf/fantasy, pick your team then use the ‘mini-league admin' option to join the mini-league.
Cheers

I'm in... I have NO idea how this is going to work (I struggle enough with AFL Supercoach and know a lot more about AFL than I do cycling) but figure it's probably a great way to learn more about the riders..

Another Saddle Sore (or Team ASS as they are otherwise known) is in the league.

So some thinking out loud for the excited newbies....... (of which I am one!)

- By midnight Saturday 3 July, pick your initial team based on your best guess at final Tour standings.
- At 2am Sunday 4 July, enjoy the prologue.
- By 9am Sunday 4 July, swap out 6 riders with 5 sprinters and the yellow jersey holder
- By midnight Friday 9 July, use your 6 transfers to swap out the sprinters for the climbers
- By midnight Friday 16 July, use your 6 transfers to fine tune your predominantly climbing squad
- By midnight Friday 23 July, swap out 3 for ITT guns
- On Monday 26 July, wait by your inbox for notification that you're $20,000 richer.
- Reluctantly hand $20,000 to wife.

I realise that this oversimplifies it, not to mention the crucial importance of the correct team pick (and trade) and the double points stage but am I warm?
