Robbie McEwen wins again

Postby Aussteve2712 » Mon Oct 01, 2007 4:04 pm

Did anyone see Robbie McEwen win the Paris - Brussels race telecast on SBS Sunday 30 Sept?
The commentators had given him up as "being lost somewhere in the middle of the pack" as the bunch got to about 400 metres from the finish line.

Then in typical Robbie fashion he burst out of nowhere to take the win.
This was his fourth win of this particular race, at 35 yrs. of age what a legend Robbie McEwen is.

Unfortunately he has stated he does not intend to compete in the world champs.

Guess it would be unfair to the rest of the world if there were too many aussies in the world championships.

Yeah was a good ride by robbie,I think he was taking out his fustration for not being aloud to ride the Veulta.I don't think he would have had a chance in the worlds thou, was a pretty tough course built more for the hilly end of season classic specialists.Good to see Cadel up there sprinting for 5th...just wasn't quite hilly enough for him but if he does 6th or better at the tour of lombardy he will probably win the pro tour jersey for the year.I know it doesn't mean much but if you can why not?.
