Apparently, Cav is a speed sprinter, whilst Greipel is a power sprinter....

I only hope we see some fighting, on the course and in the press, at some of the 's*** small races' before next years TDF.

For mine Greipel is amazing, he can come over the top from a long way out, but Cav is still in a different league. I hope it lives up to my expectations...

It will be interesting indeed.

I thought the early speculatyion was that there were some other teammates from HTC going with him (Eisel & Grabsh), but they have since resigned with HTC.

Leaving Greipel out on his own .... What is the Omega sprint leadout like ??????

As far as Jurgen is concerned there isn't one

When Robbie was there it certainly wasn't a train. At times there were one or two left to lead him out, often he'd just fend for himself, he seemed to like that.

To be fair that was a few years ago now. Will be interesting to see how it develops and what races they target.

Cavendish V Anyone in a sprint finish is a mismatch when the Columbia man has any sort of form.

The only thing I know for sure is that Cav still likes boys, so Missy STILL doesnt have a shot

If it's anything like their ability to support a strong GC contender he'll probably just continue to use the HTC one.

My name shows up in the strangest places... I'm stalking Cav at the worlds, sure I'm meant to be there to cover the womens racing, but I'm sure I'll find time

I doubt it, but so insightful a post. Especially after only 7 posts on this forum. Repect.

Great to see that, especially compared to the people that were accidentally released from the Halfway Cafe and allowed to post in grown-up threads.

It would be good to see these two go for it in Adelaide in January. It's unlikely though, as Cav doesn't usually bother with !! BAN ME NOW FOR SWEARING !! small races.

Btw some of you guys are waaay precious.

(s*** small races) Wesler Downtown Criterium, 41 riders (mostly Austrians) and only 3 other foreigners...

I read somewhere that Mark Renshaw said Cav has an extra 10kph on him when they are both going hammer-and-tong. Obviously Renshaw is no Greipel, but he is certainly no slouch either!!

The footage of Cav come over Hushovd and burning off Pettachi in Paris was mighty impressive. When he is on, I don't think anybody will beat him, but I would be interested to see Greipel get a few early ones over him and see what the response is...

Mark Renshaw should possibly spend more time and attention, on moving in the
direction of the finish, and less on "headbutts" and running other riders off line,
and he may be able to make up that 10Kph.
(and while we are at it Chav, might be a better rider if he stuck to a straight line while sprinting)

2010 Coppa Bernocchi
CSF-Colnago sprinter Manuel Belletti beats Danilo Hondo and Mark Cavendish in Coppa Bernocchi.
Francesco Gavazzi takes the diamond as overall winner of the Trittico Lombardo.

24 year old Manuel Belleti has scored his second win of the season by winning the Coppa Bernocchi today.
The sprinter of the CSF-Colnago team, also winner of the Giro D'Italia stage to Cesenatico,
was the best in the sprint over Lampre's Danilo Hondo and the winner of five stages in the recent
Tour de France Mark Cavendish. Daniele Colli and Daniele Bennati finished fourth and fifth.

For Belletti it's likely his most beautiful win in his career beating lots of top sprinters.
Coppa Agostoni winner Francesco Gavazzi (Lampre) secured his overall win in the Trittico Lombardo
(the prize for the best results in the three one-day races).
Gavazzi got a diamond with a total worth of 10.000 Euros.

Don't disagree at all mate - and if they both went straight line for the finish, Andre will have very little chance...

But apart from this, Andre has not finished any higher than 12th in any other sprint at this tour.

(Also pretty sure there are three stages longer than 200km...)

How did André get all those points from s*** small races? Aren't s*** small races only half points then? TDF has to be like double points though right?

Greipel may have a nice amount of points...but TDU,Poland,Austria & Turkey will do that for you.Not that he has had the chance this year to do anything bigger apart from at the Giro (where he did OK but nothing amazing).
Omega Pharma Lotto is starting to get some pretty strong GC riders coming thru as well.

I don't have the stats on hand, but I would expect that Greipel would have raced many more days than Cav this year (due to health, attitude and other issues which are probably irrelevant in this thread), and so would expect him to have more points.

I am not the greatest fan of either of the blokes, but at the same time I cannot wait to see them head to head, and see Cavs reactions should Andre get a few wins over him I just hope Im not disappointed...

They will be going head to head at the worlds...Cav in a team of 3 and Greipel in a team of 9.Should even things up a bit.If it wasn't for Greipel's points Germany would have a much smaller team.
