2010 Worlds in GeelongRe: 2010 Worlds in GeelongMcEwen has reported that he hasn't been nominated in the final 9
Hmmm
Re: 2010 Worlds in GeelongYes I was sort of surprised at that as he has started to show form.Is he down to do the Vuelta?.
The Giro seems to be the best warm-up for the worlds...pretty hard to compete with the guys coming off the Vuelta and still holding great form for a few weeks.
Re: 2010 Worlds in GeelongWith some recent wins by Aussies, it will be interesting to see what the team announced on Tuesday.
Recent stage wins by McEwen ( Any news of SBS coverage ? Will the men's RR be live ?
Re: 2010 Worlds in Geelong

Re: 2010 Worlds in GeelongInteresting, and no Haussler (which is not surprising given comeback from injury).
So I wonder who the key rider(s) will be ?
Re: 2010 Worlds in GeelongProbably whoever comes out the the Vuelta with the best form...which begs the question...who is riding in Spain?.
Re: 2010 Worlds in GeelongGerrans, Goss, Cooke, O'Grady, Davis and Wilson according to CN's list of starters.
Re: 2010 Worlds in GeelongRochelle Gilmore wont be riding unless they really need her.
Re: 2010 Worlds in Geelong
Why no McEwen Would seem he (Robbie McEwen) is coming up trumps in the Benelux. Experience is what will count in this World Championship 2010, would think Cadel Evans would have wanted him there. "Selectors" From your SBS...
Think Cadel Evans is the man... for this coarse. (but will he have the team?) Cheers, BrentonO Lone Rider- I rode on the long, dark road... before I danced under the lights.
Re: 2010 Worlds in GeelongIf Goss stays upright through Spain then he would have to come into the worlds with some decent form eh? He seems to be at a pretty good level at the moment.
Also the youngest guys on the squad are from Tas! I love it I might have to get a little toy devil to hang off my bars to fly the flag while im over there. Maybe it can fight Chadwick's poodle
Re: 2010 Worlds in GeelongBaden Cooke is a very very lucky man. Hasn't done much this year, hasn't done all that much since 03

Re: 2010 Worlds in GeelongI thought we got allocated 10 riders in the road race as we have the reigning world champ ie. 9 riders + automatic entry for Cadel to defend his jersey?
Edit: just read the UCI rules and this doesn't apply to the elite men's road race Current Ride: Giant 2010 TCR Advanced 1
Re: 2010 Worlds in Geelong" 3,076m of vertical gain throughout the race - ridden in the last 180km of the race"
That is a lot of pinch climbs!.
Re: 2010 Worlds in Geelong
+1
Definately would have been wise to have a second iron in the fire.
+1 The World Road Championship, isn't just a team race event, it's also a "best man on the day" event. Cheers, BrentonO Lone Rider- I rode on the long, dark road... before I danced under the lights.
Re: 2010 Worlds in GeelongIs there something up with Baden Cooke?...he isn't riding the Vuelta now due to injury.
Re: 2010 Worlds in Geelong
Does that make his selection for the Worlds void, and someone else steps in, or ....

Re: 2010 Worlds in Geelonggo Richie go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh and mnYell for Cadel when do we stop for coffee???
Re: 2010 Worlds in GeelongCadel doing some interesting work for the World's,
Night of Hannover Continental Derny Race, he was second to Danilo Hondo (00:23:43) and Alessandro Petacchi was 5th. Seems like more speed work seems to be the order of the day. Hope this freshens him up, and he comes in well. Go Aussie, go Cadel Evans, retain "The" Jersey. Cheers, BrentonO Lone Rider- I rode on the long, dark road... before I danced under the lights.
