sounds more like a mafia revenge hit than a drug investigation
Entire Italian cycling family faces ban December 10, 2010 - 9:50AM
Italian Olympic Committee (Coni) prosecutors have asked for an entire family to banned for doping offences related to a case involving Alessandro Petacchi.
Coni has asked for Pettachi's Lampre team-mate Lorenzo Bernucci to be banned for six years whilst also requesting four-year bans for the cyclist's wife Valentina Borgioli, brother Alessio Bernucci, mother Antonella Rossi and father-in-law Fabrizio Borgioli.
The case was opened by prosecutors in Padova in July investigating Petacchi over the use of banned substances.

In April carabinieri federal police investigators sequestered pharmaceutical products from both Petacchi and Bernucci's homes.
Bernucci was previously fired by former team T-Mobile in 2007 after testing positive for sibutramine, a banned substance, although he did not serve a ban.

It's not Petacchi, it's one of his team mates, Bernucci who was caught in 2007.
