Re: Tirreno-AdriaticoGreat to see, and it's the first win for the year for BMC too !!!
Can't wait to see the highlights package (hopefully something from SBS soon), as the stages sound pretty good. The Aussies are really punching above their weight this year !!! Congrats to Cadel !!! And also, Simon Clarke (another Aussie) is in 14th with a 1:28 gap !!
Re: Tirreno-AdriaticoCadel has to work on his victory salutes !!!
Re: Tirreno-Adriatico
Hey, its the new "I'm too stuffed to salute after that one" salute. Thanks for the vid link. "Caaaadel Evansss". Jim MY RIDES: My Velospace Profile
Re: Tirreno-AdriaticoHow good was the Stage 6 win!? Definitely showed his experience and poise, didn't go to early and timed his run to perfection.
Initially I thought Scarponi was going to take it, he's been looking so comfortable on the climbs.
Re: Tirreno-AdriaticoJust brilliant! He knows how to finish off those mountain top finishes. I can't recall Evans looking so lean and fit.
Re: Tirreno-Adriatico
Fantastic !! Thanks for that Not sure about BMC's strength re GT's but they have some very nice classics riders. Ballan and Hincapie really burying themselves, nice to see Cadel reward the effort. He seems very happy at BMC. ![]() FPR Ragamuffin
Re: Tirreno-AdriaticoCadel has managed to take the overall out with his time trial. Great start to his season that is for sure although of course it is early days yet.

Re: Tirreno-AdriaticoGreat to see the end result !!!
Hopefully this bodes well for the TdF !!!
Re: Tirreno-AdriaticoIts been interesting and at the same time frustrating reading on some other forums, the bashing that keeps going with Cadel.
He is trying a different plan buildup for the TdF (reportedly racing less) to get there in the best condition. People then complain that it's not really light, and then also complain that he can't help but try and win each race he enters. They complain that he loses/chokes at key times, and then in the next breath complain when he wins a stage and with clever tactics, wins overall. Crikey, nothing will stop them bashing. Now I'll be the first to admit that Cadel can be an akward character to like with what is often protrayed, and sometimes the expressed "issues" why he didn't win (but who doesn't blame the flu/crash etc and then don't get hounded by the internet experts). But I like his new enthusiasm, demeanour and efforts in the races that arated with the Rainbow stripes from 2010. I don't think he can, but I hope like hell he wins this years TdF, to shut some of them up. But I guess they'll still complain .... Go Cadel !!!

Re: Tirreno-Adriatico
He seems to be one of those figures that no matter what he does someone will find a negative.
What ever anyone thinks of him they can't deny his heart or efforts on the bike. The guy really suffers

Re: Tirreno-AdriaticoAnd now the Tour de Romandie is added to his closet as well, and almost a sage win to boot.
Lets hope for a great TdF from Cadel. He certainly deserves it !!! ![]()
