Well, I can't be sure, but Culburra is in South Australia some where, so you might be talking about a different place.redcorpsjames wrote: There is no cycling club in cullburra. i come down to cullburra a fair bit, where do you ride around there? also are there any good mtb tracks around there??
I live here, in Culburra Beach, and can tell you with some authority, being the club president, secretary and treasurer, that there most certainly is!
I ride all over the Shoalhaven area. And if you are down here a fair bit, I would have thought you'd have known of all the MTB tracks along Forest Road.

This is nothing against Contador at all as the process is in place, he is entitled to be there and I do not know enough facts to pass a sound judgement, however if Contador races the TdF and wins, or even if (when?) he wears the yellow jersey and wins stages, there will be doubt over wether the result will stand after the CAS decision and from my personal perspective, I think that will detract from the spectacle for me.
Would have been better if the CAS process had finished but what can you do....

of the final CAS decision, and if the UCI/WADA appeal fails.
Contador will still be slandered as a doper (usually through ignorance)
(Irrelevant of the fact that 50pg Clenbuterol could have no Performance Enhancing effect)
They scream about the rules, sprout words like "cheats", but won't accept the outcomes
of the judicial system, and the process. You will observe it, if it comes to pass.
Both sad and Amusing.

You are confused, or just have no idea. Contador was not banned by the UCI,
he was under suspension, went through Due Process with his Federation, and was Acquitted.
There is an appeal to the CAS by UCI/WADA.
Got back over it, and you may have a clearer POV, and be able to contribute.

A bit like asking caesar to investigate Caesar.
What made this case even worse was the Spanish pm interfering.

Like I said I am not across all the legal stuff but banned vs suspended......same difference at the end of the day....???brentono wrote:Yes.cf73 wrote:... have I misunderstood something here.

But like I said seems backwards that a decision can be "acquitted" by his federation and then the UCI/WADA then have to appeal...
Further to my original post, what are your thoughts on the fact that the 'appeal' has now been suspended to after the TdF which allows him the chance to compete in the same event that he was 'caught'....?
I am not against Contador per se, but the process.
BTW, I was questioning the process and my knowledge and thought I was contributing to the thread...are you an expert on this? Maybe you can give your personal expert advice and then the UCI can make their decision on that???

But that is the present process. The current situation of national federations handling doping cases also does the riders no favors
Contador was Acquitted, by Due Process.
The UCI or the WADA have the right to Appeal to the CAS. Which they have done.
They must show some reason why Contador should not be Acquitted by his Federation,
for their appeal to succeed. As it stands Contador is not under any Suspension, and
can ride as any other rider can. Thems the rules.
BTW, I am no expert, nor is anyone on this site. I have my point of view.
One must assume Contador is an Innocent party (not the opposite as many here do)
And the current situation has been more than detremental to Contador and his
reputation has been damaged irreparably, regardless of the outcome of the UCI/WADA Appeal.

AndrewDavid Howman, the director general of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), has suggested Alberto Contador should skip this year’s Tour de France but has also defended the decision of Court of Arbitration for Sport to delay the Spaniard’s hearing until August.
Last week Howman told Cyclingnews that WADA does not run cases to win them but to ensure that proper justice is done.
“Legally, he has every right (to ride). It’s up to him. I wouldn’t advise him to do it but I can’t tell him not to,†Howman told Spanish newspaper AS.

David Howman, should take care of his own business, what a statement...

About bloody time, mate. (Howman, sitting in the ivory tower)Howman confirmed that WADA is studying a possible threshold for Clenbuterol.

(Mercosur members already supply 82% of all beef imported by the European Union, including Spain)
What are the chances of this... folks?

Seems likely from that. I'm not passing any judgement, just surprised CT hasn't heard of it. I'll never have all the facts, so there is no point me commenting.brentono wrote:Spanish steak Or is that Mercosur Product from South AmericaNobody wrote: You've never heard of Bertie and his Spanish steak?

I would like to try that.brentono wrote: Spanish steak Or is that Mercosur Product from South America

Are there any butchers that sell the product?
If I say "I'll have what Contador is having" will they understand?
Is there any special ways of cooking to preserve the product? Or can I just put it on the BBQ?

"Yes, I'll go to the Tour de France. But it's a difficult challenge because nobody has been able to win the Giro and the Tour for 15 years,†Biciciclismo.com reported Contador as saying.
"The Tour is the biggest race there is and all the best riders ride it. That gives me extra motivation.â€
