That's a very cynical view and I don't buy it. Cadel won because he's in tour winning form. His final TT should be testament to that.

indeed. in fact, there is a long history of Tour winners carrying their form over to winning post-Tour criteriums, so it makes sense

Having just finished the Tour de France, many riders returned to racing on Monday with the opening Post-Tour crtieriums. The traditional epilogue to the Tour, the criteriums give fans a chance to see their heroes up close in a 'festival' like atmosphere. The winner may be fixed but the racing is often exciting and entertaining. Check out all the criteriums over the next fortnight, but don't take the final results too seriously.

Whether you believe it or not doesn't change the result.

I didn't know about the yellow jersey either. Or is it just for the post tour crits?

I was hoping Cadel would ride the Vuelta. Guess thats what happens when your the big gun on a US team. Shame I reckon he could've been in with a shout for two GT's in one year.
