Last night they showed the last 30kms , so I guess it will be the same for the rest of the stages.

I set my recorder for all the stages - hope it worked and they didn't change the timing (as Foxtel/Eurosport often do).ozzymac wrote:Last night they showed the last 30kms , so I guess it will be the same for the rest of the stages.

Full team time trial is to be shown tonight, so should be around an hours coverage.

I stayed up (well not really for me) and watched last nights stage (while doing the ironing). It was interesting to hear the commentators talk about echelons forming 10 minutes before it happened. I kept trying to count ho many GreenEdge riders made it into the leading group and kept counting 3, but I'm sure the commentators mentioned four, Baden Cooke, Mouris, Tuft, and Kruopsis. Mouris and Tuft did a lot of work up front once the breakaway formed, and the commentators mentioned Cooke as an (extreme) outsider for the sprint finish. Kroupsis stayed right at the front for the last couple of kilometres and kept waiting to see Cooke grab his wheel, but the kid was there when the big boys jumped and stayed on Boonens wheel for third.
It'll be interesting watching these races that GE have no interest in. It's a bit disappointing that this is an Olympic year, because this is the type of race it would have been great to see the young aussie tt riders on GE compete in.

A crash in the last 300 or 400 meters saw Cav on the ground when he was about 5th or 6th wheel. His team mates stopped to help in limp to the finish (without his helmet on). While still on the ground Cav says to one of his team mates, "I would have one that (sprint), I was already to jump.....". Not short of confidence is the world champ. But Skys' lead out train was non-existant, and considering they had nothing else going in Oman, you would have thought they would have been practicing this atleast.
