Pffffffffffft this never crossed my mind

Gilbert and BMC seemed rather lost despite the swarm at the end (love the new BMC van).

Anyway, loved the commentary team giving a big shout to the Cycling Clubs around Oz. I wonder if truly the clubs were awake watching Liege at that time of night. Hope they do it for the TdF. Yep "G'day to the local Woop Woop CC watching the TdF under the tin shed next to Murray's dunny"

One big happy family.

The Schlucks then rewarded Mr Bruyneel with a top 30 and top 50 placing ...... Frunk was 23rd (AT) 2:11 behind, and Abandondy was 50th (AT) 5:39

They have got to be kidding ......

People are giving BMC rubbish for their performances .....

Looks like the Russians own LBL now :) 3 wins since 2005. Was rather an uneventful race until Iglinsky decided to have a crack at the 2nd place :)It's just a guess but I think Nibali blew himself up once he was told Iglinsky was rapidly closing in on him (should've pulled that earpiece off). There were a couple of shots where he was hugely overgeared going uphill, very unusual for him. The will was there but the engine had it :)

he claimed that he was riding into a lot of wind, which sucked his energy. might explain why there weren't many solo efforts (or didn't seem to be, i fell asleep and didn't see all the footage).

Wind blows on everyone, it's exactly what happens when you're riding away solo from everybody else, you have to deal with wind, hills etc on your own.. IOW it's a lame excuse. Nibali had 40s with 10k to go when Iglinsky and Purito went. Purito didn't last long and Nibali was caught with 1km to go. It's a serious amount of time to lose one on one at the end of the race. I'm pretty sure his legs were shot when Iglinsky caught him, he just dropped him like he was some random guy on the road. Reminded me of Vino's win in 2010.

i don't think he was denying that his legs were shot, but high winds, unless they're at your back, definitely make it harder to make a breakaway stick. i have no idea if there really were high winds though.

Aussie 1 2 at the Tour of Turkey on Stage 4.

Renshaw breaks through for his 1st Rabo win (juuuuuust) and Gossy gets second for the 2nd time. Has points lead jersey to boot.

Cadel still in there at Romandie as well finishing safely at the front of the bunch, now only 30th at 21 sec behind Wiggins.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi !!!

Van Garderen was contesting the sprint too  Wiggins is riding with massive confidence, the Tour is beckoning.

Very happy for Renshaw, there was a fair bit of pressure building on him and the team. Two results for them already at the TOT should relieve it a little.

Those stick figure legs sure make some power!... he sat down mid sprint and then seemed to decide he could still do it  .

"I went a bit early and had to sit down to rest for a bit and then went again but it was good to get the win!," Wiggins said on TeamSky.com. The fact that this time trial specialist and Grand Tour contender was at the head of the bunch sprint was made all the more remarkable by the fact that 20 minutes earlier he had been dropped from the peloton with a flat tyre.

"I had a lot of adrenaline after I punctured with 25k to go. When that happened the boys dropped back for me and did a fantastic job," he said.
Pretty darn impressive.

Getting a puncture seems 20k before the finish seems to be a good way to win!...if you get back on that is... Remember Robbie and Cav both doing it 8) .

Robbie steaming into Canterbury behind van Sommeren to take the front and win the sprint was one of the single most exciting - edge of the seat - things I've ever seen. An astounding effort.

Absolutely!... but stage starts in little place about 15kms away ( where the main Mavic factory is )... probably the reason it starts there. So they will be going through Villars-les-Dombes pretty soon after the start and as it is flat they will be flat out. Looks like they will be doing roughly the same stage ending as the TDF stage over the Grand Colombier and Col de Richemond. Will be a tough day for some!.

Mike does it most big races. He usually asks on Twitter the day he is going to do it.

This from last years Giro coverage.
