I'd have had a good stare but not grabbed her tail.
The world has gone mad ! Can't fart without offending some people.
He's a young lad, he'll learn that you can't do that sort of thing to a woman but they can to a bloke and it'll be ok and funny then !

So if some guy on the street came up to one of the women who are important to you (wife/sister/daughter) and uninvited grabbed them on the ass you'd do nothing for fear of being labelled self-righteous?

Ron K would complain to Christopher and have all reference to it removed from the forum    (Eyerolls for RonK Not Chuck)

if Sagan grabbed my beloved like that, I would smack him in the mouth, his behaviour is no different to the league boofheads who disrespect women.

Dude, in a civilised society, grabbing other people's butts is not cool. He is lucky it happened in Belgium and not in US, UK or Australia (common law countries). He would be looking for a lawyer right now instead of training. There's battery tort right there (just to start with) :-)

Yeah it's not that, you'll note I said he can't go doing that sort of thing.
It's the media beat up that drives me insane.

Dimspace on Twitter made a good point...

Womens tour of flanders 185 words, bumgate, 800 words.. mens tour of flanders 1150 words, maybe ms aubrey could have focused her attention on writing a decent report on the womens race... now i really have finished ranting

The telecast was zoomed in on Cancellara at the time, but it was noticed by people at the time, including both the photographer & Ms Leye. As for being self righteous, "I was just joking" is a tired and lame excuse that is regularly offered up as the excuse for harassment. I noticed you edited out the quote from Ms Leye. At least you had the good sense not to offer up what you think is the "correct" conclusion.
Well, she had a good laugh, and here is my wife's message to you: blokes commenting about blokes behaviour comes across as shallow and disingenuous. Women can speak for themselves...

Interesting that there have been no comments from female forum members. But she gave me the distillation of the responses to this beatup from her female cycling friends:

Peter Sagan - Phwoar!
Fabian Cancellara - Phwoarrrr!
Peter Sagan and Fabian Cancellara - Phwoarrrrrrrrr!

Oh and she also pointed out that the podium girls' tweet didn't actually make any complaint, and that the girl seemed to linger on the podium even after the other girl had left...

Just saw this a few minutes ago on online news. ROFL. Way to go, Sagan!

You can't say "what was he thinking?", because he obviously didn't!

If podium girls are to survive as a tradition, riders have to be smarter than that. Hope the Cannondale management give him a kicking.

Thinking back.... nope, even the NRL players know not to act up like this in front of the media. And I rank them as only slightly above trained monkeys.

He's 23 and a Slovak, probably some cultural differences and def some growing up to do.
He could have done better, I'm sure he won't do it again.
Fantastic rider to watch though. Can't wait to see him in Le Tour :)

The Slovaks aren't hillbillies!

He does liven up proceedings, though.

I said cultural differences, how that transfers to hillbillies I am unsure.
We are judging him through our societal values not Slovakian ones, which I am sure aren't identical.
Not trying to excuse his behaviour just put a different perspective on it.

Warthog, if we're talking culture, Central Europeans have a long history of art and progressive thought.

If we're talking about the individual, I thought you were closer to the mark in saying Sagan has some maturing to do.

Some european cultures also have a long history of chauvanism too, perhaps his behaviour reflects that :|

In particular, Spanish, Italian, English and French.
The eastern block still believe that women belong in the kitchen, much like Arabs.

Anyway, he's just a young horny lad. Med a mistake, they'll get over it and he'll win some more titles.

Back to the real stuff.

Fabs fell over again (on the same side) doing a recce for Roubaix.

That's gotta dent his chances a little for this Sunday's race.

With Boonen out and a minor injury cloud over Fabs, who is the next best ?

A chance for our own HH ?

His form seems to be on the rise, a top ten not out of the question ? From an Australian pov I think that Matt Hayman could podium as long as he's fully recovered from that bout of gastro.
