2013 Vuelta a España

Postby Davidrnau » Sat Aug 17, 2013 8:40 pm

Hi

Looking forward to 2013 Vuelta a España .... already got first couple of days booked on Eurosports :D

Pity Juan Jose Cobo, Alberto Contador and Bradley Wiggins are not going to be there.

Vincenzo Nibali....the man to beat?

Whilst I won't put in as much of an effort as the TdF, I will try to catch up on a few of the stages.

Poor Basso. Looks like his team isn't going to be much help. BTW, Cameron Wurf is doing a daily blog over on Cycling Tips.

I like watching the Vuelta, well the limited stages we get on FTA. Been watching a couple of old climbs of Angliru in preparation.

Would be nice to see Rodriguez win a Grand Tour but after the TdF you would have to think Nibali is the raging favourite.

In English?

Cobo is Spanish, not Colombian.
He won the Vuelta 2011 and has done nothing since. He didn't make the movistar squad for tdf or vuelta this year and looks like getting cut.

Great effort by Chris Horner the 41-year-old American oldest ever Grand Tour stage winner and leader :D

It's interesting to see what performances are embraced and what performances are considered dubious :?

Would that be because Horner is Rider 15.

Horner should be forced to always wear number 15.

The 2013 Vuelta a España just keeps getting better and better stage 5 winner Michael Matthews (Orica-GreenEdge) wins in Lago de Sanabria. Former U-23 champ too :D

You know who keeps the leaders jersey :D

Watched recorded stage 4 last night. Bloody hell some of the grades were murderous. 28% in places the commentators were saying, and some of the riders were struggling even using 36x28 gearing.
