He wont win it but he will have to put a little bit of time into a few others.I think CSC are going to be really strong, with 3 great climbers they will be hard to stop in the mountains.Cadel only has one rider able to hold his own in the mountains,I think they may wish that they payed Horner what he is worth because he will be sorely missed.Valverde will be insprired I the Pyrennes along with Sastre,so with such a short TT it will be tough...makes for a good tour thou.I am rooting for Sastre if Cadel fails!.

The results coming through on the TdF website are interesting - 47.26km/hr for the fastest so far - and Brett Lancaster on the course.
The input will be slow, but at least I might be able to stay awake until 10:00 pm.
Litespeed Classic - 3Al/2.5V titanium tube set, Record 9-speed groupset, Open Corsa Evo CX
Alchemy Diablo - Columbus Zonal tubing, Ultegra 9-speed groupset, UltraGatorskins
Gitane Rocks T1 - U6 tubing, Deore/XT groupset, CrossMarks

G'day

I am finding this link better to follow it ... http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/cycling/l ... 39196.html

Grady fifth faster at checkpoint 1 and Chavanel is second fastest at the second checkpoint.

Cancellara is the overwhelming favourite apparently today.

Cadel is looking strong. I'm pissed I had a early night last night, but was exhausted after a few late night and early starts.

Go Cadel!

toolong gearing?
Thomas Lovkvist – “I won’t give the white jersey away…”

“I had a 55x11 and with a bit of time to reflect, I think I should have had an even bigger gear because I was spinning out on the downhill. Maybe a 56 or 57 would have been good. I’m not sure how fast I was going but I was pedaling at over 110 revs with my 55x11 so I guess it was pretty quick.

I saw that comment about needing a 57!

Do Dura Ace etc. make rings that big or do you need to go to custom stuff when your need the big rings?

I need to be doing 65kph before I get any real value out of 53-11 over 53-12

57-11

I use my cadence as a indicator on when to change if its under 90 or over 110 I change

Although more recently I have found on hills especially short ones I will run a lower candence and push a bit harder to get up the hill quicker....

What was the slowest average speed? Probably about 10kph faster than I'd do on the same circuit

Almost obtainable, given a skin suit and the right bike.

Must be some reason for the slow time.

Wow thats low!...ouch,my balls are aching already!

Mike,I think some guys just make sure they go thru to the next stage with the minumum effort,I would think only 50 of the 190 actually try to go flat out.
