Thomas Lovkvist – “I won’t give the white jersey away…â€
“I had a 55x11 and with a bit of time to reflect, I think I should have had an even bigger gear because I was spinning out on the downhill. Maybe a 56 or 57 would have been good. I’m not sure how fast I was going but I was pedaling at over 110 revs with my 55x11 so I guess it was pretty quick.

Do Dura Ace etc. make rings that big or do you need to go to custom stuff when your need the big rings?

I use my cadence as a indicator on when to change if its under 90 or over 110 I changeAddict wrote:offtopic & stupid question , but how do u guys know what gearing is good for what? when riding i just think.. ok pedalling way too fast.. up the gear.. but i dunno the exacts eg 53-11 etc. and whats good for hills, flats etc
Although more recently I have found on hills especially short ones I will run a lower candence and push a bit harder to get up the hill quicker....

Almost obtainable, given a skin suit and the right bike.toolonglegs wrote:41.2km average was the slowest time by someone at agritubel.
Must be some reason for the slow time.

Mike,I think some guys just make sure they go thru to the next stage with the minumum effort,I would think only 50 of the 190 actually try to go flat out.

You'd have to be a frickin' gymnast just to ride that thing!
