Late nights this week!

Postby wayno » Sun Jul 20, 2008 9:14 am

This is it. All the good stages are on this week. I am preparing myself for an unproductive week at work.

Go Cadel!

:D
I'm not happy with the SBS coverage in WA this year but at least I get to bed a couple of hours before you.

Is it just me or are there more ads this year. If I see another skoda or avanti ad I might just implode

This may be a stupid question, but how is it possible that Cadel over 3 days still has a one second over all lead.

Re - Cadels lead

None of the other GC contenders have put anytime on him. He was pretty good last night covering every move, I hope it continues over the next few days.

Darren
As long as he sticks with the peloton, and provided his GC rivals are not in a successful breakaway ( a relative rarity in flat stages) he is credited with the same time for the stage for all the other riders in the peloton. Thus if all his GC rivals are in the peloton at the end, the overall standings do not change - thus his one second lead stays the same.

Mountain stages and TTs are where changes in the GC standings usually happen.

My tip for a slightly more pleasant tour coverage. Invest in a HDD based PVR. My Topfield automatically starts recording but then I usually wait half an hour or so before I start watching. This is called "chase play" as it goes on recording ahead of me. The best bit is that I can then skip the ads and by the end of the night I've usually caught back up to the live coverage. YAY!

My concern about the car is not how it looks, but how long it seems to take to get anywhere. If you believe the ad, the kid in the back seat loses all of his puberty years just waiting to get from point A to point B. Just how slow is that thing?

Currently streaming a video feed to the tv, with an additional english audio feed as the vid feed is in German. Should be an interesting stage this one, and the next, make or break !

Thanks for that. I wondered if you had found a better feed. Petty I didn't know about that over the weekend when I was in Singapore. No TV coverage there :(
