Cadel to Ride a "Canyon" ... Heard of them?

G'day

The Belgian Silence-Lotto team have announced that Canyon will replace Ridley as their bike sponsor for 2009.

Canyon is an internet-based German brand with a reputation for stiff carbon frames and attractively priced complete bike builds. The team, which includes Tour de France runner up Cadel Evans and new signing, classics star Philippe Gilbert, will be riding the Canyon SLX road and Speedmax CF time trial frames....

Well known German brand. Can be mail-ordered. East Asian manufacturing. Good enough for pro competition.
Bianchi, Ridley, Montague, GT, Garmin and All things Apple :)

That is probably the crux of the whole 'tour' thing. It's pretty much line ball with all the bikes these days anyway, so it depends on what manufacturer wants to promote to which team with a good chance of winning, then having their logo splashed all over the news for sales and marketing reasons.
