Didn't all the masters riders get done because they thought they were buying from china, but in the end they were actually buying through joe papp... He turned them all in when he got done doh.
The 19 yr old in France is a weird one... Lot being said on the forums here about it... Not really sure what the real story is though. FFC do test a bit so I am told at the lower levels... Been a few kids done for EPO lately as well. Still you have to wonder how random the testing was... This guy wasn't a top rider.

2 years for Contador. Stripped of the 2010 Tdf and Giro.

Press release.

06.02.2012

The UCI acknowledges the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to impose a suspension of 2 years on the rider Alberto Contador following the UCI’s appeal, brought in conjunction with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), in the case concerning the Spanish cyclist.

In rejecting the defence argument, in particular that the presence of clenbuterol in Alberto Contador’s urine sample came from the consumption of contaminated meat, today’s ruling confirms the UCI’s position.

However, the UCI has not derived a sense of satisfaction from the CAS ruling, but rather welcomes the news as the end of a long-running affair that has been extremely painful for cycling.

Without wanting to enter into the details of the ruling, UCI President Pat McQuaid said: “This is a sad day for our sport. Some may think of it as a victory, but that is not at all the case. There are no winners when it comes to the issue of doping: every case, irrespective of its characteristics, is always a case too many.”

The UCI will not issue any further comments on the matter.

... and he'll be back competing in August this year. Amazing how time flies for a two-year ban.

But, it depends if Saxo keeps it's licence as 68% of its WT points came from him, and they loose all of them.

Then the other thing is that even if he races, Saxo (or whoever he rides for) wont get any points that hea earns for the 2 years after he returns ....

Hopefully he accepts it, shuts up and carries on (not racing).

putting myself in his shoes - if it really was contaminated meat (and it hasnt really been proven otherwise) he'd had a clear conscience and feel ok about racing.

innocent until proven guilty and all that

Schleck, who is set to inherit the 2010 Tour de France title, said overnight: "There is no reason to be happy now. First of all I feel sad for Alberto. I always believed in his innocence. This is just a very sad day for cycling. The only positive news is that there is a verdict after 566 days of uncertainty. We can finally move on. I trust that the CAS judges took all things into consideration after reading a 4000 page file.

"If now I am declared overall winner of the 2010 Tour de France it will not make me happy. I battled with Contador in that race and I lost. My goal is to win the Tour de France in a sportive way, being the best of all competitors, not in court. If I succeed this year, I will consider it as my first Tour victory."

But he has been proven guilty, the rule is that you cant have this in your system full stop. Its not up to the prosecutors to prove how it got in his system that really is impossible, its up to Contador to prove that it was done by accident. He didnt do that sufficiently so he has received a ban, realistically he got off very light with the back dating of the ban. Doubt he cares that the victories have been taken from him he will find a ride.

CAS to issue Jan Ullrich doping case verdict Thursday

The Court of Arbitration for Sport said Tuesday it will publish a ruling Thursday on an appeal filed by the International Cycling Union to have 1997 Tour winner Jan Ullrich investigated for links to Operation Puerto, a 2006 Spanish doping probe.

True what you say JV but for me, you would need to eat a shite load of meat to register a reading in a test. Plus he couldn't (if I remember correctly)
prove that meat where he got it from, had anymore positive results for the drug. :x

I hate drug cheats in any sport! The cretins can't beat the others on equal terms, so they injest or inject to get the advantage over others.

Don't give me the BS about endurance sports being to hard to sustain the levels of intensity too be good neither because it's the same for all!
(this statement is not directed at your post) For me, there is not satisfaction in beating others through the use of drugs. If you can't do it on your
own merit, then go and pick flowers.

He should have used salbuterol instead and claimed he was asthmatic.

it paints a pretty negative picture of contador and also the CAS panels' findings, which despite convicting him, appear to have discarded some of the more damning evidence against him.

I think the key message that was brought up a couple of times is the confusion between proving that it was possible that clen. could be from a transfusion and the idea that they were trying to prove he was transfusing. He pretty much says that CAS does a good job, but is limited in what it can do and can only look at thinkgs from very limited legal guidelines.

According to a Spanish newspaper, a former masseur of the Liberty Seguros team has stated under oath that he personally saw Alberto Contador being injected with insulin, a forbidden substance, during the 2005 Tour de France.
