Does that mean Lance Armstrong lied? Tell me it's not true.

I am guessing that Armstrong is cashing up somehow as it seems a logical explanation why each truth is a part truth and there are 50 installments still to come.

I'd suggest LA won't reveal all unless he has his lifetime ban reduced. He's also facing numerous lawsuits and will need to testify under oath soon, so perhaps a little blame sharing for now.

One thing that has been amply demonstrated is that Pharmstrong is an accomplished and inveterate liar. I'd suggest that anything he "reveals" is unlikely to be entirely true, let alone the whole truth.

Testifying under oath... that is sure to work. Well it might this time, a little bit. As much as Lance wants to any way. Lance, you ok with that?

I have read up (sept 2013) that there are five lawsuits for fraud and Armstrong had a recent victory:

USA Today wrote:Armstrong's biggest legal victory so far this year happened earlier this month when a federal judge in Sacramento ruled that the First Amendment protected Armstrong's right to lie about doping in his autobiographies. The ruling gutted a potential class-action suit filed against him January by readers who claimed they were defrauded by the falsehoods in his books. They had sought more than $5 million in damages.

Di-Luca banned for life I was going to say that it is all a bit unnecessary as no team would be stupid enough to hire him, but vini fantini has already proved that isn't true

Unlucky Dodger, and another reason for tolerance threshold levels for Clenbuterol.

I'm sure Rogers will claim food contamination from eating in China. However, it is well know that Chinese beef is tainted and many teams bring their own food or eat chicken and/or fish. So it's not clear Rogers will get off so easily.

True, as with Alberto, the onus of proof is on the accused, and he may not be successful (unlikely)
Will be more reason for the consideration of threshold levels for Clenbuterol.

Because clenbuterol positives have reached epidemic levels.

Maybe more (in many sports)than your aware of Chuck, and maybe "threshold levels" should be applied
to all banned substances, but I feel the WADA may take the easy way out,
as it would be a mammoth task

From WADA site, as they have conceeded...
It is possible that under certain circumstance the presence of a low level of clenbuterol
in an athlete sample can be the result of food contamination.

Can't see how they could bust Conty and not Dodger unless he had photos of buying and eating beef, they track it down to a supplier test their products and find the substance...

I spose it's possible but I wouldn't be putting any bets on it

Why would it be a mammoth task to add a threshold level of Clenbuterol?

As for all scientific procedures, threshold has necessarily be based on certain criteria, and it's never an all or none event. As such, the application of a threshold would just let through dopers who use micro-dosing strategies without completely resolving false positives.

At the end of the day, they are pros and making bucks as well as being supported by teams of experts. Not as if they don't know which regions in the world have clenbuterol and other contamination issues and they'd be well advised on the proper precautions. So it comes down to two possibilities, 1) Unintentional ingestion due to poor self-control. 2) Intentional use. In any case, where are the others of the 150+ riders who were also contaminated from that tour? What has Rogers been eating and where did he eat alone?

Quite simply, because there are only two places in the world where clenbuterol is used in livestock. Spain is not one of them, nor France. But China is, and Mexico is the other.

In past cases, WADA has declined to defend appeals to the CAS by athletes who returned positive tests for Clenbuterol after competing in these two countries.

But return a positive test in any other country and you are a drug cheat.

I suspect that if the positive test is confirmed, WADA will have little choice but to find Rogers guilty, however it would very likely be overturned on appeal.

Your opinion and you're entitled :| Personally I'd rather not offer cheats a leg up by supplying a ready made loophole. As sogood has said these are pro athletes on pro teams, they have the resources to avoid situations like this. I believe they also had a heads up from the UCI about possible beef contamination in China. The TOB has been going three years now and there hasn't, to my knowledge, been a spate of clen positives. Rogers may fight this but I don't see how he can win.
