2017 TdF route - corker or ?

Well, I remember this time last year feverently planning the trip to France and Italy that finally happened in July this year.

The route for the 2017 race is set to be revealed on the 18th and is on SBS on Demand, not that I'll be staying up to watch.

It will be interesting to see if it goes all mountainous to favour climbers, how much TT (individual or Team) distance and the type, and what mountains will be tackled.

The rumours and draft maps show that apart from Germany, it seems to be a wholly french affair.

Anyone going over ?

It's probably a long shot, but I've love for Ventoux to be included again. It was such a let down this year.

I agree.

I had the "pleasure" of riding Ventoux last month and it is an amazing mountain. I would love to watch a TDF stage on Ventoux now that I have a better understanding of it.

The route looks good. I like it.

No Mont Ventoux as expected, but stage 17 climbs the Col de la Croix de Fer, the Telegraph and then Galibier. I also did the Croix de Fer last month and while not as iconic as the other climbs I did (Ventoux and Alpe d'Huez) it was one of the best bits of bike riding I have ever done.

The last time the TDF went up the Galibier was 2011 when Andy Schleck went on the long breakaway and Cadel had to try to bring him back all by himself. A memorable stage.

Some of the stages look like crackers to me - the one into Chambery and the short 100km one.

Need some people to think like the Vuelta stage where Contador took it to others, and OBE did the same later to Contador !!
