I have heard that the final day (Sunday) will be the Willunga Hill stage with the race finishing at the top of the hill. Finally the final day may actually mean something.

The other stage details are here, but the detailed routes are not provided yet, except high level pics in the youtube vid in the overall stage details.

TdU Home page has all the Stage details here, including the route maps, GPS maps etc
For me, I reckon a plan would be to rather than do the Sat BUPA ride (don't need another jersey I wont wear and it's long, 1st 90km will be smooth but boring, and getting back from Strath would be a PITA), it’d be better to ride Stage 4 (and watch the race & nosh at some top cafe), rest-ish on Sat by riding to a key point on the stage and watching, and then do the annual ride & watch on Willunga.
Crowds will be HUGE on Willunga !!!!
Stage 1
Stage 2
Stage 3
Stage 4
Stage 5
Stage 6 (finally, a better final stage !!)
And yeah, there are many that complain it's not a proper race, it's boring, it's training only, it's a sprinters race, there is no decent climbs, it's hot, it's this, it's not in Victoria or NSW, it's ....
Ahh, who cares. I like it, there is a great buzz in town and there are plenty of nice bikes to drool over.
Can't wait !!

I agree. After the Vuelta has finished and then Il Lombardia in October, the TDU is the next great race to watch.MichaelB wrote:....

Anyway, after opting to do the BUPA Challenge Tour last year that got canned due to the heat, was up in the air whether to do it this year, 1stly as it was now on Sat, then there was the getting home from the finish (riding back meant that it would be a 220km day with close to 2,300m of climbing) and finally that riding to Willunga for the final stage was not really workable (riding 160 +km the day before).
That all changed when as part of a Friday drinks & nibbles with some teams (UAE, MS + Mr Sagan) as part of an ICE** event, we've also managed to snaffle a place in the Sunday ride to Willunga.
What this involves is transport for us from Hilton Hotel to the start, we then, as a group of 30, ride the full stage complete with escort starting at 7am, decked out in full kit as part of the Telstra ICE Pro Tour Experience ride, and then spend the rest of the arvo at the corporate tent on top of Willunga Hill
So, if you are roadside on the day, and see us amble past, there will be me riding a Volagi Liscio, so yell out some encouragement and give me a wave
Is it going to be Richie's year finally, or can Impey craft a win again
ICE = International Cycling Executives (I'm invited through a mate )

MichaelB sent me the temperatures for Adelaide, looks like it will be boiling which really just adds to the fun. All of the Europeans coming over from the crisp winter and now have to deal with summer will put the conditioned riders ahead and hopefully make it more unpredictable.

Impey is definitely giving it everything again. +4secs for the third stage 3rd place.
I wonder if that Kiwi round2 winner, Bevin, can climb ? He has 15secs over Porte.

Thankfully not a scorcher today, but pretty muggy with OH cloud and high 20’s.
They have just resurfaced (only a week or so ago) the descent down from Corkscrew, so will be very quick to start with, but see how the surface holds up !!
