If it wasn't stolen, then someone is under the misguided assumption that a bike of this era will sell for more if it is superficially good-looking.

Likely stolen Malvern Star ladies bike seen on ebayDid anyone have a Malvern Star step-through stolen? Someone on Ebay is selling such a bike that, going by the photos, has clearly been dismantled and spraypainted, the frame red and everything else white. Terrible job. I was going to 'ask a question' of the seller and tell them how shoddy it looked, but thought this might be a more useful outlet to vent.

Because it probably will. Look at the prices fetched by similar bikes. What makes you think that this one is stolen? If it's the paint job, then there are a million other stolen bikes on there as well... volutamus scandemus
Re: Likely stolen Malvern Star ladies bike seen on ebayI have one of these sitting in my garage. I'm curious to see how much this sells for, might be sitting on a gold mine
At least I used to have one in the garage, better check it wasn't stolen
Re: Likely stolen Malvern Star ladies bike seen on ebayI had a red Avon curved bar "step through" stolen in December.. Just wondering if it was definitely a Malvern star step through ?
The shoddy spray paint looks as though it was done by someone with enough life motivation and intelligence to steal a bike.
