A man will face court on 41 offences relating to the alleged theft and pawning of bicycles across south western Sydney.
Officers from the Police Transport Command have been conducting an ongoing operation targeting the theft of bicycles from outside railway stations and surrounding streets.
They obtained CCTV at Warwick Farm Railway Station in August, which showed bolt cutters being used to steal a chained-up mountain bike.
Further investigations revealed 14 similar bikes had been pawned over recent months.
Police arrested a 23-year-old man at Cartwright yesterday afternoon (Thursday 12 September), in relation to the thefts and pawning.
He was taken to Green Valley Police Station and subsequently charged with larceny (x8), receiving (x8), furnish false information (x17) and goods in custody (x8)
The Cartwright man was granted conditional bail and will appear in Liverpool Local Court on 9 October 2013.
Officers from the Police Transport Command made three other arrests for similar offences this month as they continue to target crime around the transport network.
