Agreed. It looks dodgy and going by the questions the seller reckons it's in a warehouse but the pics look like it's in his back door.

Had a couple of guys on the service station on Old Northern Road try to sell us an unseen and unused Scott road bike. These two didn't seem to understand much about these types of bikes - they cleared off pretty quickly when they realised they weren't getting anywhere.

As we rolled up, they were eyeing off an absolutely pristine 70s vintage Ford Falcon 500 GS.

They drive a white VT Commodore wagon, so if you see them - caution!

Saw a weedy guy get on the train at Heidelberg Railway Station this morning wheeling a black carbon road bike - with white and red decals on the top tube. Did not see too much of the bike besides that. Reported it.
Good luck if you're trying to find your two missing wheels.

My bike was stolen during the night of Monday 6th Oct and Tuesaday morning 7th Oct in Burwood. Distinguishing feature addition to your description is that the rims are blue and there is a PowerTap hub on the back. Any connection?

Unhelmeted chav-ish looking chap in North Melbourne today riding against traffic and shouting at cars from the back of a nice-looking Merida road bike. White with green or black trim IIRC. White bar tape and black/white saddle.

Got a photo from the corner, but it's not great. Wasn't in the mood for a punch-on trying to get a closer one. PM if you think it might be yours and I can text the pic through. Small saddle bag visible in photo and might be a giveaway for the owner.

If anyone has recently had their Cannondale Synapse stolen , or knows anybody that has , maybe they should check out the Wollongong Police Facebook page.

I reckon if any of you saw me tootling to the shops on a sunday morning after mowing the lawn on my good bike I'd end up being on this thread. I could well look like the bride of Frankenstein on a good day after a day in the garden. would hate for someone to think I'm rough as bags because of simply how I look...

Awesome result - others also saw the same ad and posted it to Stolen Bikes Australia - this and two others were recovered!

Focus road bike with hed deep profile front wheel
Image
Bridge road Richmond Sat 20 Feb 2016. About 2pm.
This looked 'interesting" to me...
Quick snap by passenger over my shoulder just in case someone recognises the bike.

- 5L petrol jerry can in left hand. Can't see can in photo but can see shadow on ground by front wheel
- Heavily bandaged left foot. No shoe. Presume on pedal for cleats.
- Hed deep section front wheel which was mismatched to rear wheel which had...
- Rear quick release open...what knowledgable rider would ride any bike like that?
- Of course no helmet
- And one extra issue which is legal but shouldn't be. Butt no tatts there.

If legit then the back story will be an interesting one... Just sayin.......

Not sure if this is deemed Suspicious, but I see a white Cannondale Synapse parked in the Springfield (4300) QLD Train station cages every day and night. This bike just does not move. I have seen it at 6am and at 9pm in the same place, locked up and sitting there. The tyres look like they are flat from not being used. Just seems odd to have a nice bike just sitting there, locked up and not used. Anyone from the area also spotted this? More concerned for the well being of the owner who has left it there.

Kind of hoping this isn't suspicious as I was hoping to possibly to buy it - but seems a bit weird:

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/melbourn ... 1129344253

And the serial number led me to this: https://bikeindex.org/bikes/71591

Stolen in a different country and showing up in Australia several months later... Would you steer clear of this one?

Just saw a very dodgy guy with a red Avanti mountain bike. It had black handle bars and looked pretty much brand new. He got on the train around Wynnum north on south east Brisbane and got off at Birkdale.
It was 6:15 pm on 25/05 and he was on the first carriage.

Hi all. I saw this add on gumtree and the description is copied directly from a post about a stolen bike on Melbourne Cyclist.

https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/beaumar ... 1153551448
http://www.melbournecyclist.com/group/s ... in-carlton

The only difference in the description is in the tires and they could have easily been changed in the 3 years since it was stolen. I tried to become a member of the Melbourne Cyclist but my membership needs to be approved first. Is there anyone that is already a member that can message the guy that had his bike stolen.

Wow that gumtree description is not just similar to the description of the stolen bike, it's verbatim. Makes you wonder if it was written by the same guy. :?:

Suspicious Cervelo frame etc. Note the bongs and the lady in the photos. Seller certainly does not seem like the road riding type...

What sort of idiot publicly posts a photo featuring drug paraphernalia.
Dob him in. If nothing else he should be arrested for stupidity.
