Hello, everyone,
I was overhauling my kid's bike today. When I unscrewed the V-Brake bolt at the rear, it pulled out the boss to which the brake arm was attached. Apparently it also had a thread on it. Tried to hold the boss with plies and unscrew the brake arm, but the plies got into a relatively soft metal.
So far I have three ways how it can be solved:
1) strong threadlock to the boss threads, then trying to unscrew.
2) soak all in kerosene for a day and have another go.
3) Leave as is and just bolt it back. Not that this is a bad option, just don't really want to step back at this stage
Anyone faced similar issues and solved them successfully?
Regards,
Mikhail

You may need something a bit stronger than pliers to hold the boss in order to unscrew the bolt. Try vice-grips, and soak the bolt in penetrating oil to unseize the threads. When you screw the boss back into the frame make sure it's done up really tight before refitting the brakre arm.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

Thanks, mate!
Will try not do destroy it in the vice.
