G'day Unko,

I use Lizard Skins clear polyurethane patches. Grabbed a pack in a recent Wiggle order...they are great. Look for them under "Frame Protectors".

My local LBS has a BBB product called 'Bike Skin', which is a sheet of various sized clear stickers to protect frame from cable rub as well as chainstay from chain slap etc...comes in carbon look-a-like or clear...I prefer the clear...about $10 or $15...

I just use 3M electrical tape, have been lucky enough to have bikes that match the colour of the tape.
