Hi all
I'm running an ultegra triple crankset, with 10 spd cassette, and am thinking of simplifying the front down to a single ring of around 43t.
Has anyone run a single front/geared rear setup and did you have any problems with the chain jumping off? With no front derailleur my concern is that there's nothing keeping the chain from dropping down.
Cheers
Single ring in front, 10 gears in back - problems?

I have had it skip off once - when I was running a double front with no derailleur with the chain on the big ring.
At the time my FD was broken and I had removed. Ran like that for 4 months and it skipped off once ride to and from work every day.
Unless you want the ultra clean look I would just put a FD on to make sure it can't skip off.

Juniors have it easy these days. back in the 70's we could only have three with a highest gear of 81". I guess that just makes me old.uniors are limited to one front chainring and i believe 9 or 10 sprockets on the back

maybe get a dodgy old deraileur & dodgy something up that keeps it on the sprocket - i.e. narrow the guard big so its not wide enough for it to drop off.

That's a thought Gumby, but could it be made to fit? Don't most DH rigs run the ISCG mounts these days?
As the resident Cannondale expert, doesn't one of the Bad Boy series run 1x9/10 ex factory?, I can't google from work.
