I cant claim anything like 20000km, however I am very happy with gatorskins.Duck! wrote:I've had Gators clock up over 20,000km in all-weather commuting, and on my other roadie. Can't remember the last time I had a flat.

Agreed my back tire is a Gatorskin 7000 kms so far with out a single puncture on with it. I did mostly dry weather riding though and was very cautious around glass. It My vittoria rubino on the front did well too, one puncture so far, but it looks like its almost as worn as my back tire.mikesbytes wrote:*Like*master6 wrote:2014 was free of tyre problems for me............................the gatorskins did a good job again.
I think my Gatorskin has alot more life left in it.
I'm finding that Rubinos seem to get alot of fine cracks around them after not too much life, They don't cope with Adelaide sun I guess?
So glad I got rid of the Specialized All Condition Elite tires. They were the wrong choice for me and kept getting punctures every 200-300kms.

Yep, same here. One commute flat IIRC and that was a rather hefty piece of glass.master6 wrote:2014 was free of tyre problems for me............................the gatorskins did a good job again.

but really, that's rubbish. We get none of it because the choices are illusory.

They do require tubes drubesdrubie wrote:I dunno how you guys do it. I still have a pair of taterskins on one of ny roadies, just went to polish the dust off it with a quick spin and guess what? Both of them flat. The unridden fixie with ultremos ignored for the same time period still had 60 psi. The tater is evil.

The ability to hold air while collecting dust has little to do with the tyres

You made the 536th post on this thread drubie. I'll confess to being a bit slow on the uptake, along with all the other dills here.drubie wrote:It doesn't say that on the packaging master6! WHY WASN'T I TOLD

We took 536 posts to solve your problem with gatorskins drubes.
(punch my own head)
Now that we have put you on the right track, with tubes, drubes, you can happily gator off for 1000's of happy kilometres.
Best wishes cycling friend
