So a quick weekend strip & reseal of the caliper and ride on sunday.
YEAH BABY, YEAH !!!
Now the brakes are working properly !!
The power is now brilliant and I can get 90% of full braking power (and I mean FULL braking power) from the hoods with one finger, and the modulation is great.
The brakes work even better than I can have imagined at the start. Even makes me think that I've done more than enough to not need to upgrade to the new Di2 when the time comes !!

Will probably go Di2, but stick to 10sp. Don't want to replace wheels, and happy with 10sp. Another gear won't make me any faster ...jasonc wrote:keep telling yourself that.....MichaelB wrote: Even makes me think that I've done more than enough to not need to upgrade to the new Di2 when the time comes !!
BUT, if I was getting a new bike, it would be hands down no decision !!

There is a seller in eBay who have this. I have been watching two of his listing and they are gone now. Sent the seller a message and they will only have stock next month. Looking at the review, it seems to be on par with some hydraulic system.jasonc wrote:ah good. they are the ones that are on my list.Nobody wrote:TRP Spyre (dual piston mechanical) road.cc review

I like that. Would be a good basis for an audax bike. Pity about the cliche black frame and components. What's wrong with a nice colour palate with classic polished alloy parts.MattyK wrote:Genesis: http://www.bikerumor.com/2013/08/18/201 ... el-rotors/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

More and more parts are coming in black and it's easier to colour match than any other colour. The only clash is gloss with matt.singlespeedscott wrote:I like that. Black, to my eyes, looks blah and boring. Nothing looks worse than black parts with the anodizing worn off. Or worse. Carbon fibre with the clear coat chipped away. Silver alloy parts just age better.Nobody wrote:More and more parts are coming in black and it's easier to colour match than any other colour. Agree, but many people don't keep their bikes long enough for it to matter to them these days.singlespeedscott wrote:Silver alloy parts just age better.

The ST/TT junction on the FM-179 is interesting. Wonder where else it will pop up !!??
Only thing I don't like about either of the frames is that you can't fit decent mudguards to it.
So I'll stick with my Volagi Liscio
