Does anyone know of a reasonably priced, lighter alternative?
I have Nashbar's carbon fork, but it's a bit longer than you want. But I'm willing to bet the one you linked is also a bit longer than the claimed 370mm.

FYI it's made by EVO and has been sold under a couple of different brands (though Nashbar only do the disc AND canti-stud version. The studs are not removable).

This is probably the best choice: (was mentioned about 20 pages ago, where have you been?  )

I haven't been interested until recently. Started trawling through this thread and it seems they are a rare commodity. Hadn't got to that page yet, thanks.

They did a 25C version as well.

Be warned, the shipping from SJS is damned high.

Only place that I've seen it though

Road disc frame available from HongFu - FM166
Damn you, why am I now looking at the cheapest well-kitted bikes I can find to sacrifice as parts donors?

Seems the fork off this is also available - HongFu HF-FK166:
http://www.hongfu-bikes.com/html_produc ... k-288.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But no mudguard mounts, and looks like tapered headset.

With the impending arrival of my new frame, my Kona Honky Inc will be up for grabs. Either as a F&F or as a complete bike.

Fork on that is straight 1 1/8", and pretty close to road fork geometry, but with clearance to run 28C tyres easily and mudguard eyelets ...... :D

Supposed to be a FM-066 with disc mounts

No idea re rear spacing. Chinese New Year around the corner means that info may be a few weeks away.

FM-066 wasn't that heavy, but it will be interesting to see what the weight difference is

And, another brand pops up

This time a German supplier

(Stolen from WW forum)

Looks a bit like the FM-166 frame, but the rear stays are different. Some of the Di2 installation is good, but the battery mount is rubbish. Like the colour though :D

Looks exactly the same as the FM065 frame.

Cool cobba, but what about a fork ?

Alibaba also lists a MT-MC115-D as well. Looks closer to FM-166, but isn't

The fork on the Apace looks similar to the ECFK19 which is made by Enjoy, it has the same shaped postmounts and a cable attachment on the rear of the left leg.
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/62248 ... _road.html
Enjoy doesn't have it on their website, maybe it's a new model.
http://enjoybicycles.com/product.asp?b_id=3&s_id=11

Here's another similar fork
http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/68483 ... _disc.html
That fork looks like it's probably made by Evo.

Another frameset similar to the HongFu - FM166

Looks like the pipeline is filling fast :D :D :D :D

Just need the hydraulic groupsets to go with it

Yeah, I can easily visualize a stick or D shackle getting jammed in there before you do a superman impression down the road. :P

yes, until we get the hydaulics, it's all still a problem.

The TRP Parabox that I have been using is a pretty good stopgap.

Especially for those that cant/wont afford a full new groupset

yep, the paradox goes a long way to the full hydraulic dream setup, I agree.

Did you know that the Hope V-Twin disc brake system is available in two versions, a version with the 2 piston X2 calipers and a version with the 4 piston M4 calipers.

Hope V-Twin Remote Brake System - M4 Calipers

Oooooooo, noice.

No, I didn't know !!

I see that from the tandem pic is it 4 piston Fr & rr, but the c r c link has no description.

It's not even on Hopes home page !!!

From another discussion, mainly re tandems

So that'll work nicely with the brifters normally seen with road bikes. However, as the remote master cylinder appears to be based off "Race" series brake (rather than the "Tech"), that also infers that the V-Twin has a disc limit of 160mm. However, it also means the V-Twin should be able to drive the M4 "all mountain" calipers, which Hope confirmed in an email it would work and that "some point in the future", they'll offer this as a standard options.

Anyone know what the piston size of the Hope X2 calipers are ?

The 22mm piston size used by the XTs is fairly common and several other brakes, like Formula R1s and Hope X2s use pistons of the same diameter.
