Can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative to the Campy 11s chain tool?

Pedros announced a tool more than a year ago, but it never made it to market (yet).

Park have a tool that does just the penning of the 11 speed pin, not sure on price, $40-60 I guess.

I ended up just buying the 11 speed tool because I figured I could use it on my 10 speed chains as well. WRONG. It's made so well, that a 10 speed chain will not fit in it.

If you live in Brisbane, you can borrow it for $5 a pop. :D

The Park CT-11 just peens the rivet after installation, and you need another tool to break the chain.

Ice Toolz make a tool as well, but I am not sure what it does or does not do, or how well it works. Nice and cheap though, even in Australia.

KMC now make an 11-speed chain, which comes with a KMC quick link, which I gather is not reusable. The links are available to be used by themselves but I don't know how well they will go with a Campag chain. You might be stuck with the KMC one, but KMC make nice chains, the 9-speed jobbie I just put on my MTB is a pearler shifting and noise wise (don't know about longevity yet).

PS, if you buy the Ice Toolz one, let us know how well it does the job.

Cheers

YBN make a quick link for 11s, and also have joiner pins available from ebay.

Thread Resurrection Alert!!!

No repsonse on this topic. Is the Lezyne tool any good? $25 from c r c at the moment - big difference in price to the Campagnolo one.

I use a campagnolo 10 sp chain breaker for 11speed chains and another adjustable chain tool to peen the joining pin.
After seeing the price of the CT-UN300 tool on wiggle I'll order one as that is $130 cheaper than the whole sale price for them in Aus
