advice? Worth fixing Repco crosstracks XT1 13-15yrs old?

Postby jay2 » Tue Dec 28, 2010 3:19 pm

Hello all,
In Adelaide 12-13 years ago I Bought a Repco crosstracks XT1 ladies bike. From memory, it was quite pricey for the time ($300-400?).
It has been sitting in the garage for over 8 years and I would like to repair it (think the tyre tubes are worn). Apparently it is about $80-150
to service and fix any broken parts. I would be using the bike between once and three times a week with my daughter and son for leisure and
fitness. Is it worth repairing for the above amounts or just buying one from Big W for $200? :?: If the bike is a good solid bike I would rather spend the
$150 repairing and maintaining then buying a poorer quality bike. I am not sure though if this bike is a good solid one?

Thanks, Jay2 :D

if it is a decent bike it certainly may be worth repairing, if you are into recycling it would definatly be worth repairing. if it has steel rims you may be better upgrading depending on the frame. best to post some pics so you can get a better assessment of your predicament.
