Adding Links and Images into your Post

Postby europa » Sat Nov 17, 2007 11:28 am

1. Links in Posts (read on)
2. Images in Posts (click for details)

Many posters put hyperlinks within their posts. There is nothing wrong with that. However, some links are very long (ebay is a great culprit). Because the link can be broken on the screen, the forum shows the link full width which results in readers of the forum being forced to scroll across to read the full post - the affects the entire thread and spoils the readability of the thread.

To get around this, I suggest the following fix (it can be used effectively for all links actually :D)

The bare link:
http://www.bicycles.net.au

The modified link:
Bicycles Network Australia

To do this, highlight your link, click on the URL button above the post and modify the code as follows:

Code: Select all

Bicycles Network Australia
In future, moderators will be doing this to any oversized link we find, but we'd prefer it if you did it yourself (we've got bikes to ride too :D )

Note: new members to the forum are not able to include links or images in their first few posts - this has been forced upon us by the spammers (BOO HISS). If new users wish to include a photo, please PM AUbicycles, Europa or any of the moderators and they'll help you out.
