wobbly crank is it broken or can you fix it?

There appears to be some movement in the crank and it is wobbly. Is it broken?

no i wouldnt think so.What type of crank is it...sounds like it is loose on the bottom bracket.Although if that is happening then the taper may be gone.Either that or there is play in the bb.

Strangely enough, by doing up the nut/bolt :D

Seriously, that's all it needs. You don't sound too confident on the mechanical side, so just take it your bike shop. Try not to ride on it because that'll just wear things, regardless of what it is that's loose. But if you're willing to have a go yourself, have a look and a play, you'll soon see what's loose and probably what's required to tighten it. If you can't work it out, take it to the bike shop.
