Defeating the click

Postby limetang » Fri Mar 11, 2011 8:58 pm

Success! Just got back from my 2nd ride post tinkering, and my long standing bottom bracket 'click' is gone!

Im not the type to let the clicking that has been going on for months annoy me enough for a trip to the LBS, so I picked up a Parktools BBT-9 from Ribble in a recent order.
Followed some manuals online, and basically just removed the bottom bracket cups, cleaned and re-greased the threads. Im glad I wasnt barking up the wrong tree by starting with the bottom bracket, I know there are plenty of other places the noise could have originated from but I got lucky this time. Plus I have a great new Park tool to hang on the wall, top quality gear!

Happy Dances..... :D

thank you for posting this. I hear a slight click under work load and it's probably it.
