I noticed there's an extra, very small, adjustable hole on the sole of my new Northwave Evolutions. It's not a 4 bolt - Speedplay sole ie in a 2 x 2 grid, but it's in the middle of the 3 hole arrangement on my sole. It's only probably 2mm or so diameter..
I've emailed Orbea (the Aussie importer) to ask them, but no reply yet!
Any one else know?
You can see it here -

I thought so first of all, but it's not that either - I even asked the blokes at the Bikeshop and they've got no idea!
It doesn't affect the shoes at all, it's just doing my head in!!

Dont TIME cleats use two bolts, one up/one down? Or the older SPD-R?

The forth hole is used with look keo cleats. You fix the cleat position memory nub to the sole of the shoe with the forth bolt. When it come time to change cleats the nub stays bolted to the shoe. The new cleat goes over the nub, in the exact same position as previous and bolted down with the traditional 3 bolt pattern.
