That video is on a TDF DVD I have and I wince every time I see it, just because of how suddenly it happens, and not caused by his actions at all, just equipment failure. There was an accident last year with a tyre rolling off the rim too wasn't there?

Yeah, Michael Rogers was the victim this time.

His and Beloki's crashes were both rather important in the overall outcome of both of those races

Both prove nothing, save that bad things can happen when you're pushing the edge of the envelope. If Beloki had been riding clinchers there are others whose comment would be 'He'd have saved that if it had been a tubular'.

personally, I would wait a little while and see what comes up on ebay, or even put the feelers out here for a better suited set of wheels.
Even if you have to buy another whole bike to get the wheels, you might be able to part it out and still cover your costs, maybe even make a profit!
something like this for example
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Campag-Road-Raci ... dZViewItem

although prob not easy to get to, it has a few nice bits on it, actually that seat would look nice on the MS you have!!!
