Finally got a flat with my tyre today, was only a small metal bit but seal didn't seem to work.
anyway just need some advice on replacing them. what size would it be?
On the tyre it says 700x400 , the rim is Alexrims Etrto 622x17
any brands that are reliable?
and do i need to buy a sealant as well?
cheers!

Are you sure tyre isn't 700 x 40C? In which case a hybrid type tube would work, but a roadie tube would be the right diameter but too skinny.
If in doubt take the tyre to your LBS.

I think you may be a little confused with your tyre/tube/tubeless terminology?
Have you injected some sealant into your tube to try and seal it? If yes, then it usually doesn't work too great.
If the tyre is ok then just invest in a few spare tubes (700x32-47) and a patch kit.
